The LSAT: Best Study Habits Part Two

Here are tips three and four…

Bad Habit #3:  Not committing to your study schedule.

You want to be a lawyer.  You WILL be a lawyer.  Don’t be that person who has an achievable dream and throws it away due to lack of effort.  The LSAT is the key to getting into law school (and also a big part of saving a lot of money on law school tuition), so make it a huge priority.

Summer is upon us; if you’re sane, there are probably a hundred things you’d rather be doing than studying for the LSAT.  However, for the next few months (or however long you have to study), you need to be that kid inside her living room, diligently practicing the violin while forlornly watching her friends play outside on the street.… Read full post

Top Ten LSAT Etiquette Rules

Over the past four years I’ve taught hundreds of LSAT test-takers and heard countless stories of the trials of Test Day.  On my own path to becoming an attorney, I had to take the LSAT.  Granted when most of you walk into the exam you’ll be doing so for the first time, but as someone who has been the metaphoric fly on the wall for numerous administrations, please, I implore you, adhere to the following rules of Test Day etiquette.  If all test-takers did so, the whole experience would be immeasurably more pleasant:

LSAT Strategy at the Supermarket: Should I read Reading Comp. Questions First?

When I was in college, my roommates and I used to go grocery shopping at 2 a.m.The reasoning behind these trips was some combination of a need of something to do when everyone else was asleep, the joys of riding shopping carts across empty parking lots and a desire to avoid the scornful looks of veteran shoppers.Maybe you’ve got your grocery shopping routine down, but I don’t.Even when I bring a list I constantly find myself having to double back to find things I’ve missed.During the day this earns looks I’ve learned to loathe from the queens of the aisles that mockingly ask, “You again?Weren’t you just here?”The accompanying smug smiles only make things worse.Late at night though, the only people noticing my lack of supermarket prowess are the night staff stocking the shelves, and in general they hate their jobs too much to notice much of anything.… Read full post
